SEND Teaching Assistant - From Nursing to Nurturing - Bring Your Care Skills into the Classroom

A specialist SEND school in Woodchurch is looking for caring and dedicated people to support children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), global delay, and complex medical needs. Many of the pupils are non‑verbal and use Makaton, PECS or BSL to communicate. Every small achievement you help them reach is a moment to be proud of.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing hands‑on support for pupils with complex physical, medical and learning needs.
• Using your clinical knowledge to assist with PEG feeding, epilepsy care, mobility support and personal care.
• Supporting non‑verbal pupils through Makaton, PECS and sensory‑based learning activities.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals to create a safe and supportive environment.
• Celebrating every success, however small, and helping pupils grow in confidence each day.
