Contract Type: Full-Time: Fixed term - until July 2026 in the first instance

Salary: 29.83 hours per week, term time only. £13.26 per hour pro rota

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to pupils with special educational needs. The successful candidate needs to be flexible and willing to work across any phase in school, including the current SEND Nest Provision phase. They need to be prepared to work across whole classes, with specific groups or on a one-to-one basis - this depends on the ever-changing level of need across school and the strengths of the successful individual. The successful candidate will also be required to support the lunchtime team with key children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted support to pupils with SEND, both in class and through individual or small-group interventions
  • Assist in the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)/ Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support pupils with personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and respect
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies
We are seeking someone who
  • Has a genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children with SEND
  • Is committed to safeguarding children
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic school environment
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A sense of humour (a must!)
  • Is flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development
  • Ideally has experience working with children with SEND (although training will be provided)
  • Enjoys working with supportive parents, governors and the wider community

And finally someone who has big heart, can use their initiative and has a can-do attitude

Visits

We will be running tours on Tuesday 14th and Tuesday 21st October 2025 at 3:45pm (please call the office on 01952 387720 to book a place on this tour). Though tours are not essential, we do strongly encourage them.
