Job description

Our client is requiring a specialist Teaching Assistant to work within their SEN based school in Wirral. The school has a small setting based in Wirral, with a staff team dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the children in their care.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a specialist setting for SEND and must have experience supporting a range of SEND needs. The successful applicant will have a calm and patient manner and the ability to adapt learning to the individual child. Additional training such as Makaton, Moving and Handling, Peg Feeding or additional training surrounding SEMH and ASD would be beneficial for this role. As you will be working with SEND children on a 121 or small group basis, you may be required to support with personal care.

This is a full-time position with the proposed start of January until July 2026. Our client requires you to hold a Teaching Assistant qualification, at level 2 or level 3 along with a minimum of 6 months experience working within a SEN setting.
