Job summary

Greenleas School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the SEND Team across its two sites, initially based at Derwent Roadsite. The role supports pupils with SEND through adapted learning and targeted interventions, and provides time outside the classroom for individual care.

Working four days a week during term-time only, you will take direction from the SENDCo and class teachers within a matrix structure, contributing to pupil progress and safeguarding. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a school setting.
• Experience of working with children or young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' educational, personal and social needs, including hygiene, dressing, feeding and medical care where appropriate.
• Adapt plans and deliver targeted interventions.
• Support children who need time outside the classroom and additional individual care.
• Promote the inclusion of all pupils in classroom and school activities.
• Support school visits and off-site learning experiences.
• Help prepare and deliver learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Contribute to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress.
• Support behaviour management and encourage positive social interactions.
