Job summary

New Directions Education Ltd are seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEND schools across Trafford, supporting children aged 3-11 with complex needs. Roles include full-time, long-term placements and flexible day-to-day supply, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting is essential.
Experience in a specialist SEND school or provision is highly desirable.
Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, autism or learning disabilities is beneficial.
Confident providing 1:1 support and adapting activities to suit individual needs.

Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
Supporting children with a range of complex learning and developmental needs.
Using visual aids and structured routines to aid understanding and engagement.
Supporting social, emotional development and independence.
Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils regulate emotions.
Assisting with personal care where required, following care plans.
Working with teachers, therapists and the school team to provide consistent support.
Following individual education, behaviour and care plans.
