Job summary

Swaffham CofE Primary Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex SEND needs in our bespoke provision and mainstream base classrooms. The role involves working 27.5 hours per week during term time plus one week, in a fixed-term post until 31 August 2027.

The successful candidate will adapt to individual needs, support communication and language development, and help pupils access the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Ability to adapt to a range of communication and language needs.
• Willingness to learn and develop SEND knowledge and skills.
• Ability to work as part of a proactive team.

Responsibilities

• Support communication and language development for pupils.
• Support social, emotional and language needs of pupils.
• Follow teacher directions and adapt provision to access the curriculum.
• Promote inclusion and positive relationships in the classroom.
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers.
• Deliver structured activities and adapt them to pupil responses.
