Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Disabilities)

Location: Littlehampton | Pay Rate: £90– £95 per day (depending on experience) | Start Date: Immediate | Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex disabilities in a warm and inclusive school based in Littlehampton. As a SEND TA, you’ll work closely with children who have a range of complex physical, sensory, and learning needs. Your role will be vital in helping them engage with learning, develop essential life skills, and build confidence in a caring, structured environment. Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex disabilities.
  • Assist with tailored learning activities and sensory-based experiences.
  • Support personal care needs and ensure pupils’ comfort and safety.
  • Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in every learner.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs or disabilities (preferred).
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • A genuine passion for SEND education and holistic development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
