Job summary

TimePlan Education Group is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant in Camden to support pupils with a range of needs from autism to speech and language. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, starting ASAP, in a welcoming school dedicated to inclusive education.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, using Makaton, PECS and visual supports to help pupils access learning and develop independence, under the guidance of the SENCO and teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in school.
• Proficiency with Makaton, PECS and visual communication tools.
• Calm, nurturing and consistent behaviour management.
• Adaptable, resilient and able to respond to changing pupil needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support transitions, interactions and learning throughout the day.
• Use Makaton, PECS, Now and Next boards, visual timetables and social stories.
• Work with SENCO, teachers and therapists to implement plans.
• Support literacy, phonics, numeracy and interventions.
