Job description
Teaching Assistant needed for a Year 3 pupil with ASD diagnosis

The primary school is based in South Gloucestershire in Yate. They're looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a child in Y3 who has an ASD diagnosis. The child is non‑verbal and has delayed learning. You'd be directed by the EHCP, SENCO and the class teacher and support would be in place as needed. You'd be in the classroom where possible but also comfortable supporting the child in the playground, resource hub and 'quiet rooms'.

Hours

The school hours are 08:30 - 3:30 each day Monday to Friday.

Skills Base
  • Display patience, resilience and empathy
  • Good knowledge of the curriculum would be beneficial but not essential
  • A knowledge of ASD is a benefit
  • Knowledge of Makaton would be helpful
  • Experience working in a school or education based setting preferable but not essential
