We’re working with a specialist educational setting in South Gloucestershire that supports children from Early Years to Key Stage 5 of additional needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), learning difficulties, and complex communication challenges. The setting focuses on developing independence, confidence, and life skills alongside academic and vocational progress.

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA to join their passionate team. This role would suit someone with a background in education, care, or youth support who is looking to expand their experience in a specialist learning environment. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA, you will work closely with learners both in the classroom and during community-based activities, supporting their individual learning plans and promoting personal growth, engagement, and wellbeing. The position is initially short-term, with the potential to develop into a longer-term opportunity for the right person.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs and/or disabilities
• Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) ASC, SEMH, and complex communication needs
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to support each learner’s unique goals
• Experience in education, care, or youth work settings
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour calmly and proactively
• Ideally, access to your own transport (due to site location)
