Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support learning at Embleton View School in Bishop Auckland. You will assist teachers with activities and care for pupils with complex needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
• At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
• A Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance

SEND Teaching Assistant - Embleton View School, Coundon, Bishop Auckland, DL14 8NR

Purpose of the Role

To support teaching and learning by assisting teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The SEND Teaching Assistant will embody the EPIC values and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement.

At Embleton View School

We provide specialist, therapeutic education for young people with complex needs, including SEMH and ASD, tailoring learning for those who have struggled in mainstream settings.

Supporting students from Year 1 to Year 13, we focus on removing barriers, building confidence, and helping each learner reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance
