Role Overview

Are you an empathetic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a consistent, full-time role? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a proactive individual to provide vital 1‑1 support within a specialised environment in South Birmingham.



Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver 1‑1 assistance tailored to the student’s specific EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

  • Work alongside the Class Teacher and SENDCo to track progress and adapt learning materials.

  • Help foster a calm, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere.

  • Use de‑escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage complex needs.



Requirements


  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or SLD) is highly preferred.

  • A compassionate nature and the ability to build quick rapport with students.

  • Relevant TA qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are a plus, but a “can‑do” attitude and relevant experience are essential.

  • You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
