SEND Teacher - Stechford

Academics Ltd are looking for a SEND Teacher who will be available on a full‑time basis for a SEND School based in the eastern area of Birmingham. This position is for a Teacher who can start immediately and confidently cover across all year groups as this is an all-through school.

All of the children who attend this school will have an EHCP. The school educates children with cognition and learning needs. Children may have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech Language and Communication Difficulties or a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Some children have additional needs including visual impairment, hearing impairment and associated behaviour difficulties.

The school provides an appropriate curriculum, which encompasses and extends the National Curriculum. The school curriculum model provides a natural progression towards full participation within the National Curriculum framework, with programmes designed for and implemented at an appropriate level.

The successful Teacher must:
  • Have QTS status and eligibility to work in the UK
  • Have extensive subject knowledge EYFS – KS2
  • Experience of teaching the ASDAN curriculum is desirable
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children
  • Be able to teach at a good to outstanding consistent level
  • Manage behaviour accordingly
  • Be flexible around the school working routine and alter needs due to obstacles
  • Utilise resources effectively to enhance children's attainment levels
  • Plan and think strategically
  • Handle stressful situations patiently and calmly
