SEND Statutory Manager

Interim, Full-Time | 37 hours per week

Base: Newport, Isle of Wight (with agile/remote working options)

Start date: ASAP

£200 - 250 per day plus travel & accommodation payments

A rare opportunity has arisen to lead a SEND Statutory Team on the Isle of Wight. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people while living and working in a beautiful part of the country. Travel across the Island will be required, and travel and accommodation will be provided where necessary.

You will be responsible for ensuring the team meets all statutory duties in line with legislation, while also delivering high-quality support to families, schools and partners. The role involves close collaboration with senior colleagues to drive forward the local Education Strategy and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the transformation and ongoing improvement of SEND services.
  • Working with stakeholders to enhance opportunities and provision across the Island.
  • Developing and monitoring service plans and KPIs.
  • Representing the service in key meetings and strategic partnerships.
  • Contributing to Area SEND preparation and continuous service development.
About you:

You will be an experienced SEND professional, such as a Senior Officer, Senior EHCP Writer or SEND Manager, with strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice. You will bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to improving life chances for children and young people, particularly those with additional needs.
