Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment seeks motivated individuals to support secondary-aged pupils with SEND in a Rochdale school. The role leverages experience in sports, coaching, youth work, or community and faith-based settings to build trust, boost confidence, and help students regulate emotions.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to deliver personalised support, maintain structure and routines, and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment for students with autism and SEMH needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, youth clubs, or community settings.
• Calm, patient, confident with strong emotional resilience.
• Excellent communication and ability to build trusting relationships with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students (11–18) with SEND, including autism or SEMH needs.
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions to promote learning and wellbeing.
• Help students stay focused, manage behaviour, and develop routines.
• Be part of a SEND specialist team focused on consistency, safety and emotional stability.
