Job Advert: SEND Specialist – Local Offer Review & Improvement Project

Location: Hybrid (home-based with some in-person meetings)

Contract: Fixed term, 5 January 2026 - 31 March 2026

A Local Area Partnership in Gloucestershire is seeking a SEND Specialist to lead a short-term project reviewing and improving its Local Offer. This role will ensure the Local Offer is accessible, compliant, and aligned with national policy, and that it meets the needs of children and young people with SEND, their families, and professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review Local Offer content from multiple user perspectives.
  • Assess accessibility, relevance, and compliance with national guidance.
  • Identify gaps across education, health, and care services and recommend improvements.
  • Develop a clear project plan and governance framework.
  • Work with partners, parent carers, and young people to co-produce solutions.
  • Support implementation of changes using expert SEND knowledge.
About You
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Education, Health, Social Care, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and national policy priorities.
  • Experience of Local Offer development or SEND service reviews.
  • Confident in project planning and delivery within complex systems.
  • Skilled in partnership working and co-production.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to ensure content meets accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
