Job summary

SEMH / AP / SEND Specialist Tutor Worcestershire

Location: Various locations across Worcestershire
Rate: From GBP25 - GBP35 per hour (dependant on delivery/qualifications/experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, mainly school hours (some flexibility)

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is looking for SEMH and SEND Specialist Tutors to deliver personalised, face-to-face learning for children and young people unable to access mainstream school. Many of these learners have faced trauma, anxiety, or behavioural challenges and require flexible, relationship-led support within alternative provision (AP), therapeutic, or home environments.

You will:
  • Deliver 1:1 tailored sessions (academic or therapeutic focus)
  • Incorporate creativity, mentoring, and emotional regulation strategies
  • Build trust through consistency, empathy, and calm communication
  • Record and monitor progress through brief weekly reports
Who This Role Suits
  • QTS or experienced tutors from mainstream or specialist settings
  • Professionals from PRUs, APs, youth offending, or counselling backgrounds
  • Individuals trained in trauma-informed practice or behaviour management
  • Those confident supporting learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, or complex trauma
Contract Details
  • Type: Contract, part-time (minimum 10 hours per week per learner)
