About the Role

As a SEND Child Support Worker, you will support pupils across KS3 and KS4 who require additional help with learning, communication, social interaction, or sensory needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support
  • Helping pupils engage fully in classroom learning
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication and social development
  • Using visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies
  • Assisting with personal care where needed
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families

We welcome applicants with experience from SEND settings, schools, nurseries, alternative provisions, residential care, or healthcare environments. You should:

  • Bring patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children
  • Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, or developmental delays
  • Value structure, clear communication, and consistency
  • Be reliable, resilient, and committed to helping children reach their potential
