A local educational institution in Fryerning is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Assistant to support students with special educational needs. This role involves working with teachers to ensure that students experience success in a mainstream setting and access the National Curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess strong literacy and numeracy skills and demonstrate an empathic approach. An enthusiastic SEND Assistant is required to work in partnership with the SENDCo, and classroom teachers to support the progress of students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), in line with the National Curriculum, Code of Practice and school policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be part of a thriving and supportive SEND Team and within the role there is opportunity to further develop specialisms. A proactive, empathic approach and a commitment to inclusive education in a mainstream setting is essential.
Candidates are required to support students with literacy and numeracy and to ensure full access to the National Curriculum by addressing students’ needs thereby ensuring that they experience success and learn effectively alongside their peers. This may also include supporting students in PE classes when required.
