AP Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Chelmsford to provide face-to-face 2:1 support for students from Early Years to KS4 within a 2:1 provision.

Role involves preparing materials, behaviour management, and collaboration with external professionals. HLTA preferred; two years UK experience accepted without qualifications. Term-time, up to 15 hours weekly, with tailored training and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Competenze

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND/SEMH requirements.
• Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic settings.
• HLTA certification preferred; applicants with two years' UK experience without qualifications are welcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and proactive mindset.

Mansioni

• Provide face-to-face 2:1 support, working alongside a Tutor with students from Early Years to KS4.
• Assist preparing learning materials for core subjects (Maths, English, Science) or SEND-specific needs.
• Implement effective behaviour management using positive strategies and patience.
• Provide a therapeutic and adaptable approach to education, ensuring each learner’s needs are met.
• Assist the Tutor to write daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals (SALT, OT, Social Workers) as needed.
• Manage daily attendance reporting via attendance software.
• Assist learners in transitioning to mainstream or specialist education settings.
