Overview

TeacherActive is proud to partner with a fantastic alternative provision based in Gloucester. The setting follows a varied curriculum to suit the needs of the young people. Underpinning this is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assist children develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. Responsibilities

The school is looking for a SEND 1:1 Tutor on a full-time basis. You will work with pupils on a 1:1 basis in their homes (with a parent/carer always present) or in community spaces such as libraries or children’s centres. Every learner is unique, so you will need to tailor your sessions and build strong, trusting relationships to foster a positive and engaging learning environment. You will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 5 to 19 years. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or attention deficit disorder / ADD.

Qualifications
  • QTS ideally, or have experience delivering 1:1 tuition (open to applications for TEFL or TESOL qualified candidates)
  • Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or attention deficit disorder / ADD
  • Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
