Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Wellingborough to support a student with severe learning difficulties and behavioral needs. This fixed-term position offers the chance to provide compassionate support and help the student achieve their learning goals. Applicants should have experience with SEN students and a patient, resilient approach.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs or behavioral issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS if not already on the Update Service.

1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN & Behavioural Support) - Wellingborough

Location: Wellingborough
Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years (Term-time only)
Hours: Tuesdays 8:30am-3:00pm, Wednesdays & Thursdays 8:30am-4:00pm

Tradewind Recruitment are working with an Alternative Provision (AP) in Wellingborough who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with severe learning difficulties and behavioural needs.

This is a fixed-term, term-time only position for two years, providing consistent and compassionate support to help the student achieve their learning and behavioural goals.

The Role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a student with complex learning and behavioural needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Support the student in accessing learning and developing life skills in a nurturing environment.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to promote engagement and wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting students with SEN, behavioural, or SEMH needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
