A leading childcare provider in the UK is seeking a confident and proactive 1:1 SEN Activity Playworker to support children with special educational needs during after-school hours. This role requires experience in SEND support, particularly with PMLD children, and the ability to manage confrontations. Ideal candidates will engage children in sensory activities and create a welcoming environment. Parking is available onsite, and a DBS check will be conducted.
Job Title: SEND 1:1 Support - After School Club Playworker
Location: St Nicolas CE Primary School, Boxhill Walk, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 1HB
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £15 per hour
Work Dates: Between Monday to Friday during Term Time (days & exact timings to be confirmed at interview)
Operational hours: 15:00 - 18:00 for After School Club
Contract: Casual - 6 hrs per week minimum as a SEND one to one (you can work as a playworker for every other day if desired - to be discussed at interview)
NB: Experienced & Qualified SEND is essential for this role.
Parking is available onsite.

This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable). We will conduct a DBS check on your behalf, so please prepare the correct documentation. You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the hiring process.
