Part-Time SENCO Required in Crawley

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team on a part-time basis (two days per week). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Tasks

The SENCO will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the school's special educational needs provision. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing the school's SEN policy and procedures.
  • Coordinating and leading the SEN team.
  • Assessing students' individual needs and developing appropriate education plans.
  • Liaising with parents, external agencies, and other professionals.
  • Providing training and support to staff.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN provision.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.
Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Significant experience as a SENCO in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of SEN legislation and best practice.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education for all students.
