This role is specifically designed for an educator with a strong background in construction and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will deliver tailored vocational training, helping SEN students achieve their potential and prepare for careers in the construction industry.

Day-to-day of the role
  • Develop and implement engaging, inclusive lesson plans that accommodate the needs of SEN students.
  • Deliver hands‑on training in construction skills, ensuring all activities are accessible and safe for SEN students.
  • Assess student progress using appropriate tools and methods that reflect individual learning capabilities.
  • Maintain detailed records of student achievements and adapt teaching methods to meet varying needs.
  • Collaborate with SEN coordinators, therapists, and other educational professionals to enhance instructional strategies and support student development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in SEN education and construction training.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Vocational Instructor in Construction, with specific experience working with SEN students.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
  • Qualifications in SEN education or a related field are highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of City and Guilds qualifications and vocational education frameworks
  • Proven experience as a Vocational Instructor in Construction at Level 2-3.
