Prospero Teaching seeks an experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to work 1:1 with a Year 9 student who experiences autism and anxiety and school-based avoidance. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and delivered in a home or local community setting to reduce barriers to learning.

The role focuses on building engagement, supporting emotional wellbeing and re-engaging the student with education through structured, positive sessions. Start ASAP for ongoing temporary work.

Qualifikationen

• Experience supporting young people with Autism and additional needs.
• Experience working with students experiencing anxiety and school avoidance.
• Background in teaching, tutoring, pastoral support or specialist SEN provision.

Aufgaben

• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student to encourage engagement and reduce anxiety around learning.
• Deliver tailored, engaging and accessible sessions that meet the individual needs of a Year 9 learner.
• Support the student in overcoming barriers associated with school-based avoidance and anxiety.
• Adapt teaching approaches to accommodate the student's Autism and learning preferences.
• Encourage gradual re-engagement with education through consistent, achievable learning goals.
• Support emotional wellbeing, confidence-building and development of positive learning routines.
