Job summary

An educational support organization is seeking a SEN Tutor in London to provide 1:1 teaching for a student with special educational needs. Applicants should have QTS or substantial teaching experience, particularly with students who have autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. Ideal candidates will show a passion for education and possess strong communication skills. This full-time position offers immediate start.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with SEN students.

Job description
SEN Tutor – Thurrock, Essex

Full‑time – Start ASAP.


Remedy Education is looking for a Secondary Tutor to work 1:1 with a student who has SEN, teaching core subjects. The student has ASD, challenging behaviour and requires special support throughout the day. The role may be private or through local authorities, focusing on children with SEN including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other additional needs.


Qualifications


  • QTS or at least 1 year’s experience teaching and assessing English, Maths and/or Science in primary or secondary schools.

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with SEN such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay.

  • A proven record of building pupil confidence, self‑esteem and love of learning.

  • 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty.

  • Creative application of differentiated techniques to planning and teaching.

  • Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Incredible patience.

  • Excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to use these.

  • The ability to manage possible behaviour issues.

  • Enhanced DBS on the updated service.

  • Willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

  • Register to work as self‑employed.
