SEN Tutor
Location: Withernsea, East Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Part-time, Flexible, Term Time only, Ongoing
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications) from £26 to £35

GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with two students with Autism in the Withernsea area. This is a rewarding, part-time role, supporting students who are currently unable to access full-time mainstream education.

About the Role as an SEN Tutor:

• Deliver personalised, engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of two students with Autism (Year 3 and Year 8).
• Provide 1:1 tuition, twice a week, with a focus on building confidence, developing basic skills (e.g. English and Maths), and supporting emotional regulation.
• Sessions may take place at home (with parent/carer present), in-school, or an alternative setting – based on student needs.
• Create a positive, consistent, and structured learning environment to help build trust and engagement over time.

As the Ideal Candidate, you should:

• Have experience working with students with ASC and/or additional needs.
• Be patient, nurturing, and understand the importance of routine, predictability, and sensory needs.
• Be able to adapt your teaching style to suit the individual students you work with.
• Have a background in education, SEN support, or tutoring – QTS is desirable but not essential.
• Be confident working independently and managing student engagement.
• Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education).
