About AP Education

AP Education is a specialist Alternative Provision provider supporting children and young people who face barriers to accessing mainstream education.

We deliver personalised, child-centred education to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD, anxiety, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and other complex needs.

Our approach focuses on building positive relationships, restoring confidence and helping young people re-engage with education through flexible, nurturing and individualised learning.

About the Role

We are recruiting passionate, experienced and dedicated SEN Tutors to deliver one-to-one education to pupils across West Sussex, from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4.

As an SEN Tutor, you will plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each child's needs, abilities, interests and educational goals.

This is a flexible, term-time-only opportunity. Individual pupil placements typically offer 6 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to take on additional placements and gradually build towards a full-time timetable, subject to availability.

  • Use trauma-informed, flexible and positive behaviour support strategies.

  • Work towards individual learning targets and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, attendance and engagement.

  • Complete session reports and provide regular updates to the AP Education team.

  • Work collaboratively with families, schools and other professionals where appropriate.

  • Follow safeguarding policies and maintain professional standards.
