Job summary

Prospero teaching is seeking tutors with SEN experience to provide 1:1 support in the Bolton area. The role focuses on inspiring and engaging learners who may not have been in a traditional school setting.

You will deliver learning plans, track progress, and may use therapeutic strategies to re-engage students. The position is part-time, based in the community or pupils' home, with start ASAP and ongoing duties.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience.
• UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to SEN students.
• Create and deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis.
• Take a therapeutic approach to re-engage students with learning.
• Submit weekly progress reports to monitor pupil progression.

Job description

Prospero teaching is looking for tutors with experience with SEN students or in an SEN setting in the Bolton Area to provide 1 to 1 support to students with SEN requirements. We are looking for an inspirational and engaging tutor to help support those whose needs may not have been with in the traditional school setting.

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.

The tuition is replacing school for these young people and is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the English, Maths and Science Tutor:

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
