SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time Position, Woolton

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a welcoming school in Woolton. This full‑time role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who have special educational needs and to support their individual learning and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Providing individual and small‑group support, helping students with SEN reach their full potential.
  • Supporting students with emotional, physical, or behavioural needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour in line with SEN strategies and maintaining a calm, supportive environment.
  • Working with external specialists and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support personalised learning goals.
  • Promoting the social and emotional well‑being of students with SEN, encouraging confidence and independence.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A caring, patient, and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Experience working with children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities (desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and a commitment to providing tailored support to each student.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals.
  • Enthusiastic, with a positive attitude, and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
  • Experience or training in behaviour management techniques, communication strategies (e.g., Makaton), or supporting students with autism or learning disabilities (desirable but not essential).
