Job summary

New Directions Education is seeking Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work in SEN settings across Leeds, supporting pupils with a variety of needs. The role involves collaboration with teaching staff and SENCOs to deliver tailored education, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed approaches and behaviour support.

Roles require patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach, and are subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and behavioural support.
Training in Team-Teach or other recognised behaviour intervention methods.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Support planning, delivery and assessment of individualised learning for pupils with SEN.
Deliver differentiated learning alongside class teachers to ensure curriculum access.
Provide small group interventions under SENCOs and phase leaders.
Assist in development and monitoring of EHCP outcomes, contributing to reviews.
Provide cover for whole classes in short-term absence of the class teacher.
Offer guidance and support to other teaching assistants for consistency.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reporting.
