Charlton Church of England Primary School is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, supportive team. You will provide dedicated, individual support to pupils, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

This 27.5 hour post runs Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm during term-time (38 weeks). You will work with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to support learning, wellbeing and development, implementing personalised strategies and

Formación

• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, empathetic and able to build relationships with pupils and staff.
• Able to follow individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with KS2 interventions desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Provide dedicated support to pupils under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
• Support the pupil’s access to learning and participation in classroom activities
• Implement personalised strategies and interventions to meet the pupil’s individual learning, behavioural, emotional, or medical needs
• Assist with the planning and delivery of adapted learning activities
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
• Support the pupils during transitions, break times, and school activities
• Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and record progress, contributing to assessments and review meetings as required
• Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to provide consistent support
