Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)

Location: Shoreham

Pay Rate: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Do you want to play a key role in helping pupils with SEN engage positively with their learning? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN TA to join an inclusive and supportive school in Shoreham. This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils build confidence, overcome challenges, and access the curriculum effectively.

In this role of SEN TA, you will support pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and interventions to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills within a structured environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform future support.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under teacher guidance.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
