About the role

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and welcoming school in Rustington. This role is an excellent opportunity to support pupils’ learning, boost their confidence, and contribute to their overall development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and adapting resources for individual needs.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support pupils in developing academic skills, independence, and confidence.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to inform future support.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, additional learning needs, or behavioural challenges (preferred).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under teacher guidance.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
