Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Havant
Salary Range: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you a compassionate and driven individual looking to support learners with special educational needs in a fulfilling role?

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming school community in Havant. This role offers a highly rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support due to a range of learning difficulties and behavioural challenges.

About the role:

This role involves supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays. You will be instrumental in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their potential in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual student needs
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCOs to implement effective support strategies
  • Promote an inclusive and safe classroom environment
  • Support behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Keep accurate records of pupil progress and report to relevant stakeholders
  • Offer pastoral and emotional support where required.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (in school or similar settings)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A positive, patient, and adaptable nature
  • Ability to follow guidance and work as part of a team
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
