SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School
Role: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: From £90 per day

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support at a lovely SEN Secondary School in Fareham. This is a long-term role requiring patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping children thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide individualised support to KS3 Students with complex needs, including learning, communication, and sensory challenges.
2. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
3. Support the student with daily routines, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
4. Use visual aids, communication tools, and structured interventions to enhance learning and engagement.

Requirements:

1. Experience working with children with SEN, particularly complex needs (ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, or other learning disabilities).
2. A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. Understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) and strategies to support students with additional needs.
