About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with mobility and transfers, supporting personal care needs, and facilitating classroom engagement.
• Implementing therapy programmes and monitoring wellbeing.
• Enabling students to access learning in ways that are safe, comfortable, and tailored to their abilities.
• Supporting physiotherapy routines, mobility exercises, and sensory‑based interventions under guidance from medical and therapy professionals.
• Following established protocols and responding calmly in medical situations.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents/carers, nurses, and therapists to ensure each student receives consistent, personalised support.
• Fostering a positive, respectful, and empowering environment where every young person feels valued and included.

Ideal Candidate

• Has experience supporting students with physical disabilities or medical needs, or a strong willingness to learn with full training.
• Demonstrates empathy, emotional resilience, and a commitment to providing safe, dignified care.
• Is confident in supporting physiotherapy routines, mobility exercises, and sensory‑based interventions under guidance from medical and therapy professionals.
• Understands the importance of promoting independence, student voice, and equal participation in all aspects of school life.
• Can remain calm and attentive when responding to medical situations, following established protocols, and working closely with the wider team.
• Works collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, nurses, and therapists to ensure each student receives consistent, personalised support.
