Tempest Education – Primary School Teaching Assistant

The Tempest Education team is working closely with a Primary School in Warrington (Newton Le Willows). The role of Teaching Assistant will begin on 19 January and will support a pupil in KS1 on a 1:1 basis throughout the full academic year. There is potential for the position to become permanent.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans for SEN students.
  • Support children working at a level below expected.
  • Provide personal care and plan and deliver interventions.
  • Offer phonics support and 1:1/ small group support for children with ASD.
  • Create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom activities and adapt resources to meet student needs.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable.
  • Patience, compassion, and a positive approach to supporting children's learning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for working in education and helping children succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Minimum 6 months experience within a School environment.
