Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support learners with additional needs in Pentre, Wales. You will work with children exhibiting ASD and other behavioral challenges, assisting teachers and engaging students in varied educational activities. Candidates must have at least 3 months of relevant experience and be eligible to work in the UK. Flexible hours are available, with competitive pay and additional benefits.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings.
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council).
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour.
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs.
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons.

Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a Special School in Pentre, RCT. The schools support learners with additional learning needs, specifically ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and Global Delay and Vetro Education is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants in or around the Pentre area who are experienced in any of these fields. As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.

  • Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Pay: £88.92 per day minimum
  • Location: Pentre, RCT
  • Hours: Full and Part time roles - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the dayAssisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
