About the role

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching assistant, looking for a new opportunity in Birmingham?

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for experienced Teaching Assistant's to join a dedicated Special School in Birmingham with multiple sites for learning, that provides support to secondary aged students.

This school caters to students with autism and additional complex learning needs, with a diverse range of abilities. Successful candidates will need to be able to support pupils that may have challenging behaviour, specific learning difficulties or EHCP's. With support from other members of staff, activities will be set by the teacher, and you will support pupils with their progress and attainment. We are looking for those who are available on a full-time basis (5 days per week).

Qualifications & Experience

Experience supporting some of the following in a special school setting is essential (3-6 months minimum):

  • ADHD
  • Asperger Syndrome
  • Autism (ASD)
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Global Development Delay (GDD)
  • Hearing Impairment (HI)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)
  • Non-Verbal Learning Difficulties (NLD)
  • Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Speech and Language Disorder
  • Visual Impairment (VI)
