SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Role in Blackburn (Start January)

Location: Blackburn
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a primary-aged child with Autism (ASD) and ADHD in a welcoming Blackburn primary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEN support, behaviour management, or classroom assistance who wants to make a real difference in a child's education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and ADHD throughout the school day.
  • Help the child engage in learning, follow routines, and develop social and communication skills.
  • Support behaviour regulation and emotional well-being using positive strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Available Monday to Friday (full-time).
  • Previous experience in SEN, behaviour support, or classroom assistance (preferred).
  • Ability to use consistent behaviour-management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive, compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
