Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Bury. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the individualised support they need to thrive.

This role is a full-time position starting in September, based in Bury, with opportunities for long-term placements and career development through CPD and national college access.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Is patient, nurturing and resilient.
• Can build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Understands the importance of inclusive education.
• Communicates effectively with staff and pupils.
• Can adapt their approach to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional learning needs in a primary setting.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and participate.
• Support communication, confidence and independence.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
