About the Role

We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant with an Autism focus to provide targeted support to pupils with ASC. This role will enable you to directly contribute to individual learning, social development, and behavioural support, working closely with the SEN team and class teachers to implement personalised strategies and promote inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • Assist teachers in planning and implementing differentiated learning activities.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and help pupils develop social and emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to monitor progress and adapt interventions.
  • Provide personal care as needed, maintaining pupils’ dignity and safety.
  • Keep accurate records of observations, interventions, and achievements to track progress.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a SEN or Autism‑focused support role.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with ASC, differentiation, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Ability to adapt approaches to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements in a school setting.
