Job summary

Justteachers Ltd in Bourne is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs in a specialist education setting. This flexible, part-time supply role offers varied daily work and potential progression to full-time from September.

You will work with teaching staff to provide 1:1 and small-group support, help develop communication, social and independence skills, adapt materials, and foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• SEN experience beneficial but not essential.
• A patient, compassionate and resilient nature.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
• Flexible approach; willingness to work across settings or needs.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.
• Adapt learning materials to support accessibility and engagement.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
