Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision attached to a mainstream primary school in Putney, Wandsworth, from January 2027.

You will support children with autism and complex needs, helping them communicate, learn and build independence in a nurturing, structured setting. This full-time role offers a collaborative team, professional development in SEN, and the chance to make a real difference to pupils' progress.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally Autism and complex learning needs.
• Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade A-C (or equivalent).
• Demonstrates strong behaviour management and communication skills; nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support children with Autism and complex SEN needs.
• Work with the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support tailored to pupils' needs.
• Encourage speech, language and communication development.
• Support pupils with social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Adapt activities to meet individual abilities and learning styles.
• Promote positive behaviour and a calm, structured environment.
• Support pupils during classroom activities and outdoor learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
