Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Specialist)

Location: Southsea - Portsmouth

Salary: £86 to £90 per day

Our schools in Southsea are seeking empathetic and skilled SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team immediately. As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism, you will play a key role in providing tailored support that enables students to achieve their full potential. Our team is collaborative, dedicated, and focused on delivering high-quality education.

The Role:

In this position, you will work closely with students who have Autism, helping them navigate both academic and social challenges. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Specialised Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with Autism, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure that they are reaching key developmental milestones.
  • Emotional Support: Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, offering emotional guidance to help students manage their anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
  • Communication: Maintain strong lines of communication with teachers, parents, and professionals involved in each student\'s education, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.
  • Promoting Inclusion: Encourage a sense of belonging for students with Autism, promoting social integration and inclusivity within the school community.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with students on the Autism spectrum.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students with Autism succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Experience in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings is advantageous.
  • Full-time position with an immediate start.
