Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Dartford to provide targeted 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2 in a mainstream primary setting. The role suits someone confident with positive behaviour management and a genuine passion for helping children reach their learning goals.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver focused sessions, adapt approaches to individual needs, and help create a safe, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• SEN experience is essential.
• Qualifications/training in education, SEN or childcare.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Experience providing 1:1 pupil support.
• Confidence working with children across KS1 and KS2.
• Flexibility to work within a mainstream primary school.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2.
• Work across KS1 and KS2 depending on school needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, development and engagement.
• Deliver focused 1:1 sessions and targeted interventions.
• Assist the class teacher with classroom activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain clear boundaries.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs.
