Job summary

Remedy Education in the United Kingdom is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced SEN school in Billericay. The role covers both primary and secondary pupils, with a focus on personalised support and pupil wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with communication and emotional regulation, and follow EHCP targets. Start ASAP; full-time long-term role with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
