SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is working with a "Good" Ofsted rated SEN school based in the heart of the New Forest area, currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to help provide emotional care and academic support.

This specialist setting caters for children and young people aged 9‑18 who have SEMH (SocialMappings, Emotional, Mental Health), social communication difficulties, and associated learning difficulties, and offers tailored educational packages to reduce barriers to learning and promote social, emotional well‑being.

Your role will include providing support for pupils, teachers, and the school: working within small class sizes or with pupils on a 1:1 basis, offering a therapeutic approach rich in vocational opportunities.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • GCSEs or equivalent
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (preferable)
  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility
  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the onlineƐ update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child‑related references
